The Twisted Tails blog is so named because of Ariel.
Here’s why… One day, while Ariel, age two, sat in the office she knew it was time to go care for the animals; a venture she looks forward to whenever she is about. She’s a frequent visitor since she was three months old. On this particular day, the ever-observant Ariel spies something on one of her trips to visit the critters; a must a few times a day when she’s about. She sees the brand on old Cowboy, who is the severely crippled, senior cutting horse adopted by Twisted Tails. She points to the brand and tells Kate, “That says I love you.” Whaaaa? Some of the horses at Twisted Tails have brands. Some have scars. Twister’s brand came courtesy of the BLM. While we see fiery, hot metal scalding skin to identify a piece of property belonging to a person or entity, this little one sees something completely different. Where we see terror, she sees a ‘note’ that only the ponies adopted have a symbol that they’re family. For, in the eyes, of a two-year-old, it’s what they have in common. Now, our horses have a symbol that means, “I love you.” Not only are they blessed to be safe, sound and cared for but we are, indeed, blessed by their love in return. That is the story of how Twisted Tails blog became named, “Ariel Says..” What you’ll find is she’s got a lot to say. And she says most of it better than we do. |
